Hazardous Materials Storage and Handling Documents

HMCD is the local agency that regulates the storage and handling of hazardous materials in the following geographic areas: within the Cities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, and Saratoga; Moffett Field; San Martin; Stanford; and unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.  In addition, HMCD handles County owned/operated facilities regardless of location, and State/Federal facilities within the City of San Jose.  UN-021

Aboveground Separation, Containment, and Monitoring Plan (Appendix to Hazardous Materials Business Plan and Hazardous Materials Registration Form)

Owners/operators of aboveground Hazardous Materials storage/ handling facilities must submit this form, or an equivalent written monitoring plan for aboveground storage of hazardous materials and wastes, along with their Hazardous Materials Business Plan or Hazardous Materials Registration Form.

Guidance document for owners/operators of communications sites (e.g., cell sites)
 UN-051 Emergency Procedures

Form owners/operators of facilities can complete and post to satisfy HazMat storage and/or HazWaste generator requirements for posting of emergency information.

 UN-023 

Hazardous Materials/Waste Aboveground Storage Area Inspection Form   Form which can be used by a facility to satisfy the County Ordinance requirement that visual monitoring inspections be documented.

Hazardous Materials Monitoring System Inspection Record
Form which can be used by a facility to satisfy the County Ordinance requirement that minimum monthly inspections of electronic monitoring system control panels/consoles be performed and documented.

 HMCD-046 Training Record
This form may be used by facility owners/operators to document training (e.g., HazWaste management training) provided to their personnel.
