Land Use Program

Land Use Program

The land use program works to ensure that adequate potable water supplies and proper sewage disposal facilities are provided where public water and public sewer service are not available.

Septic tank systems are the alternative to sanitary sewers. The land use program performs site surveys to determine the feasibility for septic tank systems, specifies the conditions for installation, conducts installation inspections to ensure conformance to local codes and good practice, issues permits for new septic systems and repairs to existing systems, and maintains location records.
